Scout24 was founded in 1998 and belongs since 2006 as a subsidiary to Deutsche Telekom AG. Scout24 operates seven online marketplaces (AutoScout24, ElectronicScout24, FinanceScout24, FriendScout24, ImmobilienScout24, JobScout24, TravelScout24), as well as two portals (Jobs.de and Local24). The company employs more than one thousand people. In mid-2008 a department for innovation management was founded within Scout24. The department’s tasks includes collecting, analyzing and rating of trends, ideas and innovations. The generated information should be available for the group and individual business areas. One of their short-term-goals for 2009 was the design and implementation of a trend management software (called Trend Platform). This platform was supposed to record, structure, visualize and archive trends of the following years. According to our customers’ needs ITONICS Radar was created as an intranet software platform to support their trend and communication management activities.
